RFx for Limit Items without Decoupled Bid scenario

Hello Experts,

Have a basic question, is it possible to create RFx for Limit items without using Decoupled Bid scenario (& thus avoiding SUS) ?

All discussions on SCN lead to using decoupled bid scenario in SRM 7.01.

Won't activating SRM_SOURCING_1 business function just serve the purpose? I ask because currently I do not have access to SRM 7.01 system, all I have is a SRM 7.0 SP02 at my disposal for demo purposes and hence, need to be completely sure before I propose to Client.
